Ms McNelis was delayed for 3.5 hours with Aer Lingus and received €500 compensation!

I was travelling back from Salzburg to Dublin with Aer Lingus back in March 2011. I got checked in, went through security and made my way to the departure lounge. At this point there was no indication what so ever that there was going to be a delay to my flight.
I waited for about an hour and thought that we really should be boarding by now, but then it was announced that our flight would be delayed. Aer Lingus did not tell us how long the delay would be for or the reason for the delay. I just had to keep checking the departure boards!
The delay ended up being well over 4 hours, it was very tiring.
About five years later I saw an advert for Air Delay on Facebook, I had no idea that I was entitled to flight delay compensation, and certainly did not know I could claim for a delay such a long time long ago! I thought I might as well give it a go. I found the historic flight details and input them into the Air Delay website.
It was so easy to use, I found out straight away that I was indeed entitled to compensation. I submitted my claim then I received regular email updates from Air Delay right up until I received my compensation cheque in the post…. nearly 5 years after my flight was delayed. I think I got awarded around €150, I forget the exact amount I received. I paid it into my bank account and it helped out with general living expenses.
I would not hesitate to recommend Air Delay to anyone, their website is easy to use and you do not get charged anything unless they win your claim.
